Hunter Women's Clinic is a full service gynecologic clinic dedicated to patient safety and satisfaction. Dr. Hunter is 100% United States trained and fully board certified. She is a full-service gynecologist and is the first gynecologic surgeon to perform daVinci and Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILS) in Cameron County.

Welcome Sharon Machner!
Dr. Hunter and staff are excited to welcome the addition of Board-Certified Physician's Assistant, Sharon Machner, to the practice effective August 2023.
Sharon has 30 years of experience with 25 of those years devoted to care for women. She comes from a military upbringing, has been married for over 35 years, and has raised two amazing sons which she considers life's greatest reward.
She is a Clinical Assistant Professor with the UTRGV Physician Assistant Program. Sharon's primary responsibility is Ob/Gyn instruction and coordinating clinical experiences for students. She completed her medical education at UTMB - Galveston and graduate studies at UTRGV.
She considers it her honor and privilege to partner with patients as they navigate the physical and hormonal changes that occur with each season of life. Sharon looks forward to reuniting with former patients and welcoming new patients in her practice. She is available for immediate appointments and walk-ins.
Welcome Lisa Guerrero!
Dr. Hunter and staff are excited to welcome the addition of Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner, Lisa Guerrero, to the practice full time, effective November 2021.
Lisa has over 27 years of experience as a Women's Health Nurse Practioner and over 31 years in women's health in general. She is originally from Canada and is an honors graduate in nursing from Seneca College in Toronto, Ontario. Ms. Guerrero received her advanced practice nursing certificate from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas in 1996.
She is the mother of three amazing daughters. Lisa loves her two dogs, enjoys running, and is always up for an adventure... most recently hiking!
Lisa joins us full-time and is looking forwarding to continuing to provide quality care for the women in our community. She is available for immediate appointments and walk-ins.

State of the Art Surgery
Valley Morning Star 2014 - Dr. Susan Hunter, Gynecologic Surgeon, has performed the Valley’s first robotic-assisted hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) surgery through a single small incision in a patient’s navel (belly button), using a new type of surgical instrumentation. Dr. Hunter used the “single-site” da Vinci® ’Si’ robotic surgical system at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen to perform the surgery for a patient.

Annual Gynecologic Healthcare
We provide a comprehensive screening exam that encompasses a women's full history, general health issues, and cancer screening for the Breast, Cervix, Uterus, and Ovaries.
Menopausal Medicine and Hormone Replacement
We provide comprehensive counseling and education on the most up-to-date information in menopausal medicine and hormone therapy.
Infertility Diagnosis and Treatment
We provide a complete basic work-up for infertility in the female patient including a comprehensive history. The physician exam identifies risk factors for infertility including male factor, tubal factor, infectious, endometriosis, diminished ovarian reserve, anovulation, uterine factor, and progesterone deficits.
